TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A man already in jail has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Pima County last month.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said 29-year-old Uriel Alejandro Hermosillo-Gomez was found shot to death in the 2000 block of West Canada Street on March 4.

The PCSD said 19-year-old Quincy Brown was identified as the suspect and was arrested on unrelated drug charges a few days after the shooting.

Detectives were able to collect enough evidence to have Brown charged with first-degree murder while he was still in custody. Brown is being held on a $1 million bond for the murder charge.

“The Pima County Sheriff’s Department remains committed to holding those responsible for violent crimes accountable and ensuring justice for victims and their families,” the PCSD said in a release.
