Ontario’s police watchdog has cleared officers of any wrongdoing after a man wielding a crowbar was injured after being hit with a Taser in Brampton on Boxing Day.

The altercation happened in the early morning hours of Dec. 26 when Peel Regional Police Officers were called to a home near Wanless Drive and McLaughlin Road in Brampton for reports of “a physical altercation,” Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit says.

A woman at the home reported that an intoxicated male was “out of control and holding a knife in the middle of the roadway” following a tussle “with members of their family.”

When police arrived on the scene they saw the man emerge from a garage carrying a crowbar and walk …
