If you see a squadron of police officers in tactical gear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Oshawa today, Durham Police insists there’s no concern for public safety.

The city is not under threat and the Punisher did not escape his shackles is on the loose in Oshawa; the show of force is simply a training exercise.

Durham Regional Police is alerting the public to emergency response training happening at the Oshawa courthouse building at 150 Bond Street downtown, a situation that is expected to be complete in three hours.

“Please be advised that Division Street and Carriage Works Drive will be closed for the scenario, and there will be a heavy police presence,” the release from DRPS said. “This is a training scenario and there is no threat to public safety.”
