Another Canada Post strike looms this month as both sides work toward a deal.

The existing agreement between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers is in effect until May 22. If the union and Canada Post are unable to reach an agreement, workers could walk off the job.

The 2024 strike lasted from Nov. 15 to Dec. 17, at the height of the busy holiday season. Canadian charities said an estimated $300 million was lost in donations due to the strike, and businesses and government offices scrambled to find ways to deliver important notices.

Banks and other services are now encouraging customers to sign up for online notices as another strike is possibly on the horizon.

Negotiations on a new agreement broke off in March when Canada Post and Canadian Union of Postal Workers were unable to come to a resolution.

This week, both sides said they have agreed to resume negotiations. Meetings were scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday. If progress …
