The discovery of cocaine and heroin during a checkstop has led to charges for men from Brampton and Hamilton, police say.

The arrests happened on April 30 shortly before 10 p.m. while officers with the OPP were working a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) checkstop in South Dundas, approximately 80 kilometres south of Ottawa.

Police say an investigation led officers to find an undisclosed amount of suspected cocaine and heroin.

A 26-year-old man from Etobicoke, a 29-year-old man from Brampton and a 25-year-old from Hamilton were all arrested and charged, the OPP says.

Jasanprit Singh, 26, of Etobicoke,Bhupinder Singh, 29, of Brampton, Harmanjeet Singh, 25, of Hamilton, have been arrested and charged in connection to the incident.

All of the accused have since been released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date.
