BEND, Ore. — A man has been arrested in Canada in connection with the 2023 killing of a woman in Bend, authorities said.

Cole Nikolaus Sinclair, 25, was taken into custody in December 2024 and remains jailed in Canada as the United States seeks his extradition, according to the Bend Police Department.

Sinclair is accused of killing Evelyn Jeanette Weaver, 28, who was found dead in her Bend home in July 2023. Her death was ruled a homicide. Police said there is no indication that Sinclair and Weaver knew each other.
