According to the NWS, the warning spans along the coast from Surf City to Sunset Beach.

Rip Currents Flow(WCTV)

The NWS says a Red Flag Warning means life-threatening rip currents are likely and the surf zone is dangerous for all swimmers.

NWS offers the following tips if you find yourself caught in a rip current:

  • Yell for help.
  • Remain calm.
  • Do not tire yourself out.
  • If you have to swim out, swim parallel to the shore.
