Union accuses Trump administration of allegedly sabotaging Ontario EV manufacturers [Video]

A union representing Ontario automakers has called out U.S. President Donald Trump for allegedly sabotaging Ontario manufacturers. 

A report released today by Unifor, a union representing a collection of Ontario’s Honda workers, claimed that the decision to stall Honda’s $15 billion electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing strategy in Ontario was an act of active sabotage directly tied to the current 25 per cent tariff on Canadian automakers. 

“This isn’t about fair trade — it’s economic sabotage. The U.S. policy shifts are designed to bleed Canadian operations and push production south of the border. Workers, families, and entire communities are paying the price,’ said Unifor National President Lana Payne in an official statement. 

Despite this ongoing outrage, today, the mayor of the municipality where manufacturing was supposed to take place–New Tecumseth–stated that while disappointing, he remains hopeful Honda may return.
