It could be a wet end to the work week with showers and a risk of thunderstorms in the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says Friday is expected to start off mainly cloudy with a chance of showers across the GTA.

The weather agency says there’s a 30 per cent chance of showers in Toronto with a risk of thunderstorms in the early hours, jumping up to a 40 per cent chance in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, and the Niagara Falls area.

The daytime high will be around 27 C, but could feel as high as 31 C with the humidity.

Friday evening should see skies clear, but there’s a risk of thunderstorms overnight in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa, Niagara Falls and elsewhere in the province.

There could be between 10 mm to 15 mm of rainfall in Mississauga, Environment Canada says.
