More than 1,700 customers without power Monday night in Oshawa [Video]

More than 1,700 homes in north Oshawa were without power Monday evening after a switchgear failure near Grandview Street and Woodstream Avenue.

Oshawa Power crews were dispatched to replace the equipment and full power to 985 customers was restored by midnight.

Power to the remaining 785 homes was restored shortly after 2 a.m.
