A post showing a brand-new home with its shingles peeling off less than a month after the homeowner moved in has gone viral on Reddit.

The post, shared by u/inkura_arukni in the r/mildlyinfuriating subreddit, has garnered over 47,000 upvotes since it was uploaded on May 11.

The post was titled: “My brand new house has shingles peeling off after living here for only 2 weeks—hasn’t even been windy,” featuring a photo of the visibly damaged roof. The image shows multiple shingles lifting from the surface, despite the absence of recent extreme weather.

“Looking at the photo, I’ve seen this happen to one of our clients before, and it’s always a headache for the homeowner,” Todd Stephenson, co-founder of Roof Quotes, told Newsweek.
