In March, a major pipe connected to a pump station froze, causing a water crisis in the small village of Puvirnituq, Que., home to many Inuit. On Saturday, the village council declared a state of emergency after a weekend house fire. Dr. Marie-Faye Galarneau, a physician working in the village’s hospital, explains what she has seen on the ground so far, and why it pushed her to resign.
