Developers want to build a new subdivision with over 1,000 new homes, including detached, semi-detached and townhouses in Brampton.

The new development would be part of Brampton’s planned Heritage Heights community, which was unlocked last year following a decision by the Ontario Land Tribunal.

Initial plans for one Heritage Heights subdivision could bring 568 new builds with over 1,300 units to Brampton, while the full secondary plan could bring up to 134,000 residents to northwest Brampton.

The new subdivision proposed by DMHH Partnership and Korsiak Urban Planning would be along Mississauga Road and Varsity Drivewould be along Mississauga Road and Varsity Drive, and includes 299 single detached homes, 217 street townhouses, and 52 back-to-back townhouses.

A report to Brampton’s planning and development committee says the new community would have a net land area of 131 hectares, be home to 28,000 new residents, and “accommodate 2,000 jobs.”
