Weather warnings issued for parts of southern Ontario [Video]

Weather warnings have been issued for parts of southern Ontario.

Environment Canada has placed multiple areas under a rainfall warning.

The City of Toronto and southern Durham Region, including Pickering and Oshawa, are among the areas affected.

There, 35 mm was reported as of Thursday morning.

“An additional 20 mm of rain is expected for areas east of the Don Valley Parkway before rain tapers to showers this evening,” Environment Canada said.

“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.”

In Niagara Region and Haldimand, total amounts up to 60 mm are expected through Thursday afternoon.

Almost 30 mm has been reported so far in the area, with an additional 20 to 30 mm expected before the rain tapers off to showers Thursday evening, the weather agency said.
