A second straight second-place finish in the second of the three-game Jeopardy Masters tournament quarter-final match was enough to keep Whitby’s Juveria Zaheer – Canada’s last hope in the competition – in fourth place heading into next week’s deciding games.

The top four of the six remaining contestants in the popular television game show qualify for the semi-finals.

Final Jeopardy knocked Zaheer down to second Tuesday but a correct response Wednesday helped the psychiatrist and researcher with CAMH and the University of Toronto climb into second. Unfortunately, Isaac Hirsch also guessed ‘Grover Cleveland’ to the clue, “Continuing his tradition as mayor and governor, he trails only FDR in total vetoes as president” to win the match and jump to third in the standings.

Surprisingly, “What is Donald Trump” was not the correct response.
