BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bandits made history on Saturday night at KeyBank Center.
By beating Saskatchewan 15-6 and winning Game 3 of the National Lacrosse League Finals, Buffalo won its third straight championship. Only one other team in league history had done that before: the 2012-14 Rochester Knighthawks.
The Bandits also became the first NLL franchise to capture seven championships. Previously, they were tied at six with both the Toronto Rock and Philadelphia Wings.
While it became apparent in the fourth quarter that Buffalo would win another title, the social media by fans across Western New York really took off once the game went final, starting with the Bills and Sabres.
