Sweet tooth lovers have a new reason to visit Mississauga’s Streetsville neighbourhood. A family-run dessert shop is now serving up authentic Mexican treats and snacks.

La Dulce Vida, located at 243 Queen St. S., officially opened its doors and is bringing the flavours of Guadalajara, Jalisco to Canada. The shop specializes in traditional desserts like fresas con crema (strawberries and cream), crispy churros, stuffed shells, and esquites — a Mexican street corn dish.

The menu also includes refreshing drinks such as horchata and mangonada, offering a full range of salty, sweet and fruity options.

Though La Dulce Vida has yet to launch a website or official social media pages featuring its full menu, the shop remains a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by locals.

The shop is open from Sunday from 12 to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 12 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 to 10 p.m.
