A pair of armed home invasions where a suspect fired shots have led to charges for a man from Brampton, police say.

The first of two break-ins happened around 9 p.m. on Shady Glen Lane in the town of Mono, approximately 40 kilometres north of Brampton, the OPP says.

Police say a man armed with a gun forced his way into a home and flashed a firearm before demanding valuables from a victim.

Shots were fired during the break-in, but no physical injuries were reported.

Then around midnight, the OPP says officers were called to a second home on the same street for another armed home invasion.

Police say the same suspect forced entry into the home, displayed a firearm and demanded valuables.

But a struggle ensued between the suspect and the victim, with gunshots reported. Officers arrived shortly after and took the suspect into custody at the scene, police …
