Housing, crime key issues as Mississauga mayor prepares ‘State of the City’ address [Video]

Business leaders from across Mississauga will gather in two weeks to hear what Mayor Carolyn Parrish has to say about housing, crime, social services and other pressing matters affecting Canada’s seventh-largest city.

U.S.-imposed tariffs, which suddenly became an issue earlier this year when American President Donald Trump put them on the table, are also likely to be discussed as the Mississauga Board of Trade hosts a State of the City event on June 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mississauga Convention Centre.

The board, which describes itself as the “voice of business” in Mississauga and represents more than 1,000 larger businesses in addition to numerous smaller operations, said the mayor is expected to speak about the city’s challenges, opportunities and “plans and initiatives that will shape the future of our city.”
