Durham Regional Police are investigating two incidents involving counterfeit currency used at a Shell Gas Station in Port Perry on April 6 and 7.

Police say a man entered the gas station convenience store at Highway 7 & 12 just after 7 p.m. and purchased a 12-pack of beer, a pack of cigarettes and two bottles of pop. The suspect paid using four counterfeit $20 Canadian bills and received legitimate currency as change.

The following day the same man returned and again used counterfeit $20 bills to purchase items. In both instances, the suspect was seen leaving the area in an older green pickup truck, which has since been confirmed as stolen.

The man is described as a 50-year-old white man with a heavy build. He had an unshaven moustache and goatee. He was wearing a yellow toque, black hoodie and green and black plaid jacket with a large rip …
