TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo woman says she lost everything after she was behind bars for eight months, accused of felonious assault.

“They said, ‘Here’s your release papers,’ and just opened up the door and let me out,” Dobbins said. “It’s like, where do I go?”

Lashawn Dobbins said she lost her home, her car, and her job.

It all stems back to a shooting from September 2024 near the corner of Bush and Ontario.

Dobbins said she was in her car, waiting to pick up a friend from his apartment in North Toledo, when a woman flashed a gun at her. Dobbins said she immediately grabbed her bag from her back seat and grabbed her pistol for protection.

She said another woman approached her vehicle and sprayed mace in her face through the window. Dobbins fired shots, striking that woman.

Dobbins said she called 9-1-1 for help, only to be taken away in handcuffs.

Her bond was set at $100,000 with no 10%. She said …
