Ontario man charged for sexual assault of 14-year-old for second time this month [Video]

An Ajax man charged earlier this month after a 14-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted and forcibly held is now facing additional charges.

Gowryshankar Kathirkamanathan, 30, was initially arrested May 2 on charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement.

Durham Regional Police say investigations began on April 30 after officers received information from Hamilton Police that a girl had allegedly been sexually assaulted and forcibly held in Ajax over a period of days.

Investigators say the suspect, who knew the teen through a mutual connection, picked her up in Hamilton and drove her to Ajax, where the incident is believed to have taken place.

After further investigation police believe the man was having a sexual relationship with another 14-year-old girl.

On Thursday Durham Police Tactical Support Unit and Offender Management Unit officers executed an arrest warrant at a residence in Ajax. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
