Budding country superstar Owen Riegling of Bruce County stole the show at the 13th Annual CMAOntario Awards in Hamilton Sunday with five trophies while the host city earned three wins from four nominations, including Group of the Year honours for The Redhill Valleys.
Durham and Niagara regions won two of the event’s top prizes, with Robyn Ottolini of Uxbridge taking home Female Artist of the Year and Jeff Brown (Beamsville, now based in Toronto) was named Musician of the Year.
Reiglin won for Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (Bruce County – From the beginning), the Fans Choice Award and Single of the Year (Moonshine). Reiglin also shared Songwriter of the Year honours for Moonshine with Daryl Scott Jesse Slack.
Other Hamilton winners included Mackenzie Leigh Meyer (Roots Artist of the Year) and Josh Ross (Compass Award).
