JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Welcome to June, but we are now facing consecutive days of 90 degree or warmer temperatures this week. Smoke and haze will also impact our skies. The smoke is from wildfires in Canada coupled with dust from Africa’s Sahara Desert. Highs will sit near 90 each afternoon, with mugginess making it feel a little warmer each day as moisture levels increase. Eventually, this will lead us to some spotty shower and thunderstorm chances by mid to late week.

In general, a quiet weather pattern is expected throughout the work week. By the weekend, a system may try to make an appearance, bringing us slightly better rain chances. However, it looks more likely that we will stay hot and dry until next week. Showers are more likely next week as High temperatures will stay near 90 through the end of this forecast, dripping a little bit lower …
