Wildfires in Western Canada have forced thousands of people to flee their homes and the heavy smoke has prompted nearly 250 air quality warnings and advisories in four provinces as of Monday.
Some of the smoke from the more than 100 wildfires being battled in Canada has made it to the United States, as far south as Georgia, according to The Weather Channel on Monday.

“Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour,” Environment Canada said Monday, noting that it also depends on proximity to fires, fire activity and the direction and speed of the wind.
