Canada’s last hope at the Jeopardy! Masters tournament is going to need a big night tomorrow to book her ticket into the finals.
Whitby’s Juveria Zaheer was in third place in the semi-finals after Pittsburgh writer and tournament leader Victoria Groce and Tournament of Champions defending champ Yogesh Raut went one-two in the opening match.
The two leaders kept their lead in game two against five-time champion Isaac Hirsch, leaving Zaheer in fourth – with three final spots available – heading into Wednesday’s matchup against Groce and Hirsch.
Groce and Raut are assured of spots in the final, leaving Zaheer and Hirsch battling it out Wednesday for the final spot.
The two-game, traditional format Jeopardy! Masters final will happen Wednesday after the final semi-final game.
Zaheer, a psychiatrist and researcher with CAMH and the University of Toronto, won a wildcard tournament in early 2024 to book her ticket to the Tournament of Champions…
