A long-time mentor from the Dragon’s Den television series, a former Bank of Canada governor from Oshawa and a university professor who has devoted his career to mental health issues affecting Indigenous youth are among six honorary doctorates being conferred today through Friday at convocation ceremonies at Ontario Tech University.

The university will welcome a new generation of changemakers – more than 2,200 strong – this week during the graduation celebration at Polonsky Commons at the north Oshawa campus, adding to its growing alumni community of more than 31,000.

This year’s ceremonies will also recognize excellence, leadership and community impact through the conferral of six honorary doctorates. These distinguished recipients include innovators, advocates, entrepreneurs and national leaders who embody Ontario Tech’s spirit of progress, purpose and service.
