NOACA has issued a Wednesday air quality advisory for Greater Cleveland and Akron as surging temperatures, ‘haze’ from Canadian wildfires approach.

CLEVELAND — The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) has preemptively issued a Wednesday air quality advisory for all of Greater Cleveland and Akron as the 3News weather team predicts surging temperatures and a “haze” from the ongoing wildfires in Canada.

According to NOACA, the alert will be in effect all day Wednesday. The air may be “unhealthy for sensitive groups” during this period, with the following counties impacted:

  • Ashtabula
  • Cuyahoga
  • Geauga
  • Lake
  • Lorain
  • Medina
  • Portage
  • Summit

“Sensitive groups” include children, the elderly, and those with breathing issues. People in those categories should watch their time outdoors and keep an eye on the latest air quality readings, with NOACA also offering the following tips to help limit air pollution:
