It’s expected to be a warm day with showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says Wednesday is expected to start with mainly sunny but hazy skies in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Hamilton.

The daytime high will be around 28 C in Mississauga, but could feel as warm as 33 C with the humidity, the weather agency says.

There could also be winds gusting up to around 60 km/h in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.

Into the evening, Environment Canada says to expect a 40 per cent chance of showers. We could see thunderstorms develop in the evening and overnight, with winds gusting up to around 60 km/h and a low of around 18 C.
