Portland man killed in head-on crash on Hwy 58 in Lane Co. [Video]

LANE COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) – A Portland man died in a two-vehicle crash in Lane County early Tuesday morning, according to Oregon State Police.

The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. on Highway 58, near milepost 36.5. OSP says a white GMC Yukon was going eastbound on the highway when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a gray Volvo semi-truck that was hauling a 52-foot box trailer.

The driver of the GMC, 45-year-old David William Dickey, died at the scene. OSP says the driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.

The highway was impacted for about three hours due to the crash investigation.

No other details have been released.
