PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A three-alarm fire burned a house in north Portland and damaged an adjacent building on Sunday afternoon, according to a spokesperson with Portland Fire & Rescue.
Shortly after 6 p.m., a passerby reported a house fire in the area of North Vancouver Avenue and North Alberta Street, according to PF&R. Crews found “significant” fire throughout the initial house, with flames reaching a commercial building next door, the spokesperson said.
Due to the spreading flames and high heat, PF&R called for a third alarm, the spokesperson said.
The initial house was vacant and the next-door commercial building was closed, so both buildings were empty and no one was hurt, PF&R said.
No details have been released on the extent of the damage or what caused the fire. This story will be updated with more information when available.
