KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Museum of Kansas City is set to honor Native identities with exhibitions planned to highlight their experiences during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Museum of Kansas City says that in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States and in anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, two exhibitions will be presented to honor Indigenous history and art.

Museum leaders noted that “Homeland: The Osage in Missouri” is expected to open on Feb. 21 thanks to a $25,000 grant awarded by the Missouri Humanities Council. The council is the only state agency devoted exclusively to humanities education.

Curated by Jimmy Lee Beason II, a citizen of the Osage Nation and professor at Haskell Indian Nations University, Museum officials said the exhibition explores the deep roots of the Osage in Missouri.
