A look into President Trump’s tariffs [Video]

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – President Trump has been busy imposing tariffs this month—the initial Mexico and Canada tariffs that were later delayed, a reciprocal tariff affecting a majority of products and a 25% tariff on aluminum and steel.

“We didn’t want U.S. steel to go to a foreign company,” said President Donald Trump. “For 15 years, U.S. Steel was the greatest company in the world, and it was a big deal 80 years ago.

The aluminum and steel tariffs on any aluminum and steel imported to the U.S. come with a “no exceptions or exemptions” tag to help domestic producers. However, there is concern about collateral from this move.

“President Trump has got to not only care about the American worker, but also, the American consumer,” said Economic Commentator Thomas Fellows. “The lower-middle class will be disproportionately affected.”
