The Okotoks Dawgs announced today (Dec. 20) that a trio of Academy players will be on the WCBL squad for the 2025 season.

The Academy graduates who will be on the WCBL roster consist of Benito Bonilla, Brandon Paez, and Chase Logan.

Dawgs fans were introduced to Bonilla last season, as he played in six games and was a force at the plate. In those six games, he posted seven runs, six hits, a double, 10 RBIs, three walks, and crushed four home runs. The first baseman originally hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and stands at 6’4 while weighing in at 230 pounds. After joining the Dawgs Academy, Bonilla attended Foothills Composite High School in Okotoks.

Bonilla is currently with Missouri State playing post-secondary baseball. The video below is of Bonilla winning the 22U Baseball Canada Nationals Homerun Derby last season.
