Above-average temperatures before more snow hits southern Ontario this week [Video]

Gusty winds will help bring warm, above-seasonal temperatures to southern Ontario before more snow hits the region later this week.

The warmer-than-usual temperatures started the thaw in Mississauga and the GTA on Monday, and Environment Canada says the trend will continue into Tuesday with a daytime high around 6 C.

The Weather Network says the normal for this time of year is closer to 1 C.

There’s a chance of drizzle or showers in the afternoon, adding to the melt of snow seen in the last few weeks.

But by Wednesday afternoon, a low-pressure system will track into southwestern Ontario, reaching the GTA by evening and Ottawa Thursday morning, The Weather Network says.

Environment Canada says Wednesday will see a mix of sun and cloud with warm daytime temperatures reaching 4 C. By evening, increasing cloud cover will bring a 60 per cent chance of snow or rain as temperatures …
