Air quality warnings are in place for parts of Ontario.
Environment Canada has placed northwestern areas of the province under a warning, with smoke “causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility.”
“Extremely high levels of air pollution due to smoke from local forest fires may remain in place for several days,” the warning for more northern areas said.
Further south, very high levels of pollution are also expected beginning Monday morning.
“During heavy smoke conditions, everyone’s health is at risk regardless of their age or health status. Limit time outdoors. Reschedule or cancel outdoor sports, activities and events,” the weather agency said.
