Alberta Premier responds sharply to US President-elect Donald Trump’s 51st state jibe. Canadian Premier of the state of Alberta took on Trump for his post on Truth Social. The President elect on December 18 stated that ‘it makes no sense’ for the US to subsidise Canada to $1,000,000,000 a year. He went on to say that Canadians want the country to be US’ 51st state. Smith emerged as the only Conservative from Canada to take a stance against Trump on subsidies. She said the trade deficit emerges from billions of raw materials like oil, gas, minerals, grain, livestock and timber.
