All flights were cancelled out of Pearson Airport to Washington, D.C. Thursday morning after a jet and helicopter crash.
The commercial jet carrying 64 people collided in midair with a U.S. Army helicopter and crashed in near Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night.
Both aircraft crashed into the Potomac River and officials are searching the icy waters for survivors.
Airlines have cancelled all flights connecting travellers to Washington, D.C.’s Reagan Airport and Pearson Airport, the airport said on X Thursday morning.
“This applies to both arrivals and departures,” Pearson said. “We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available.”
Pearson Airport suggests travellers check with their airline for the latest status of flights.
In a post on X., Reagan Airport said they are not expecting flights to resume until at least 11 a.m. Thursday.
