Amazon Prime Video viewers have had to prise themselves away from their screens after watching an ‘atmospheric’ thriller.

Canadian series The Disappearance is such a compelling crime drama that fans have been rationing the six episodes.

Set in the Montréal suburbs, the French-language show is centred on the disappearance of 10-year-old Anthony (Michael Riendeau), who vanishes from a birthday party.

But the investigation takes a turn when it uncovers dark secrets buried by his family, including parents, Henry (Peter Coyote) and Helen (Camille Sullivan).

On Google, viewers said they were kept ‘guessing until the very end’ by The Disappearance’s ‘unexpected twist.’

Among them was Estelle Berry, who wrote: ‘I loved the show. I found it to be a gripping, poignant story that was well-acted and beautifully filmed.
