Amid rise in political violence, RCMP struggles with recruitment [Video]

Days after the attempt on Trump’s life at a rally in Pennsylvania, concerns over politicians’ safety in Canada are being raised as well.

Global News has learned that the RCMP has struggled to bolster the ranks of officers tasked with protecting politicians – despite an increasing number of threats against them.

A senior law enforcement official told Global News that in order to meet the demand, Canada’s national police force has had to get creative in its efforts to recruit to this increasingly difficult post.
