Another hammer smash-and-grab at an Ontario Mall [Video]

Police are on the hunt for a group of suspects involved in a smash-and-grab robbery at a jewellery store in Burlington on Saturday.

The incident took place at Mapleview Centre, located at 900 Maple Ave., during the evening. It is unclear whether it happened while the mall was open or after closing.

A recent video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @acollinsphoto shows four individuals dressed in black, with face coverings and gloves, smashing glass display cases with what appears to be a hammer and grabbing jewelry.

The eight-second clip captures smaller display cases being toppled as the group quickly grabs items before fleeing the store, while witnesses at the scene can be heard shouting, “Call the police!”

While the name of the store was not officially disclosed, the video appears to show signage indicating it was one of the Charms Diamond Centres.
