There are sunny skies and double-digit temperatures in the forecast for the weekend but there’s more rain on the way on Friday in southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says temperatures will be closer to seasonable normals on Friday following days of chillier weather in the Greater Toronto Area.

The weather agency says the day will start off cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of showers in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Durham Region and the Niagara Falls area.

Daytime temperatures will be around 4 C to 6 C with winds blowing around 20 km/h and becoming light in the afternoon.

Into the evening and there’s more rain expected with a 40 per cent chance of showers and an overnight low around 3 C.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday is expected to see double-digit temperatures with a high of 12 C with clear skies and a low of 2 C. Then …
