April 16 weather: Snowfall and flurries possible in southern Ontario [Video]

Wednesday’s forecast is calling for flurries with up to 5 cm of snowfall possible in some parts of southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says the day will start with a 30 per cent chance of flurries in the morning with winds blowing around 30 km/h and gusting up to 50 km/h in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.

The daytime high should be between 5 C to 7 C, depending on where you are in the province.

But some communities could see up to 2 cm of snow, including Newmarket, York Region, London, Parry Sound, Huntsville and Haliburton County. Other areas could see up to 5 cm, like Listowel, Kincardine, Huron County and Bruce County.

Conditions are expected to clear into the evening with winds dying down somewhat to around 20 km/h and gusting up to around 40 km/h before becoming light around midnight.
