A teen found guilty of manslaughter in the 2023 stabbing death of Danillo Canales Glenn will be sentenced in April.

The teen, who was 16-years-old at the time of the incident and one of two people charged, was found guilty of manslaughter rather than second-degree murder in December.

On Friday, sentencing was set for April 11.

The Crown is looking at the possibility of adult sentencing.

Various assessments and reports have been ordered ahead of the date.

Glenn was 18-years-old when he was fatally stabbed at an outdoor basketball court in the southeast community of Copperfield on the evening of Sept. 5, 2023.

Two brothers—one 16-years-old and the other 18-years-old— were arrested the following day.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the 16-year-old cannot be identified.

Because identifying the 18-year-old would identify his brother, the 18-year-old also cannot be identified.

The 16-year-old went to trial last year.

The 18-year-old will go to trial later this year.
