Greater Toronto Area residents should get ready for snow shovelling this weekend.

After a blast of icy drizzle, snow and wind on Wednesday and Thursday, southern Ontario is in for more winter weather on Feb. 8 and 9.

A low is tracking across the lower Great Lakes area, which could bring significant weather, Environment and Climate Change Canada said in a post on X.

Between 10 to 15 cm of snow could fall through the weekend to the GTA, the weather forecaster said.

Up to five cm could fall on Saturday in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Halton Region, Hamilton and Niagara Region. Durham Region may escape the snow on Saturday.

A mix of sun and cloud is expected with temperature highs around -3 C and lows down to -7 C on Saturday.
