Northern lights could be visible in parts of Ontario and across Canada this week.

A strong geomagnetic storm could bring the Aurora Borealis to areas across Canada and some parts of the U.S. Wednesday and Thursday, according the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center.

The lights were also forecast for Tuesday night but overcast conditions likely hampered views in many areas.

On Wednesday, the lights could be visible across western Canada and in northern regions of Atlantic Canada, Quebec, and Ontario, NOAA’s Aurora forecast shows. The forecast includes a possibility of aurora Thursday evening.

Clear skies are forecast for Wednesday night in Northern Ontario, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
