Baby exposed to bear spray during home invasion in Ontario: police [Video]

One teen is in custody and police are searching for a second suspect following an armed home invasion where a baby was exposed to bear spray in Hamilton.

The break-in happened around 2 a.m. on Wednesday at a home in the area of Upper Paradise and Stone Church Road, the Hamilton Police Service says.

Officers received multiple reports of “a large fight” and say that a 15-year-old male from Hamilton came to the home in a stolen vehicle before breaking into the home.

A family was home at the time when investigators say two teens broke in and set off bear spray and affected the residents, including a 9-month-old baby.

One of the teens then pulled out a knife and assaulted four of the family members, police say.

Minor injuries were reported.

But the family managed to force the teens out of the home, holding down one of the suspects until police arrived.
