The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a recall on several brands of bagels due to a risk of “extraneous metal” being present in the products.
A total of 28 different products are impacted, which include six-pack bags of Bigway, Co-op, Super A, and TGP brands that were packaged between Nov. 4 to Nov. 27, 2024.
Bagel types affected by the recall are cheese, everything, asiago cheese, New York Plain, blueberry, multigrain, and sesame.
The recalled items were distributed to Alberta, B.C, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Yukon in addition to Saskatchewan.
Consumers are advised to not use, sell, serve, or distribute the products.
The bagel recall is linked to a Sifto brand HyGrade Salt recall, which the Canadian Food Inspection Agency also recalled due to pieces of metal.
The affected salt was used to make the recalled bagel products, the agency said.
