Police say a Guelph man is facing charges after allegedly kidnapping an employee at a bar he was known to frequent.
Guelph police say that on Friday, May 2, a woman told police that the previous night, she was travelling home in a co-worker’s vehicle when she noticed she was being followed by a man who was a regular customer.
Police allege that the customer asked the woman to enter his car and once she did, he locked the doors and drove away from the area. He reportedly professed his love for her and refused to let her exit the vehicle. When she attempted to flee, he allegedly physically restrained her.
Eventually, she was able to exit the vehicle and wave down another motorist for help.
