Two rival candidates in the Ontario election launched their campaign headquarters on the same morning, and they’re just a four-minute walk from each other.
NDP candidate for MPP in Beaches-East York, Kate Dupuis, launched her office on the morning of Feb. 8. Two hours later, her Liberal counterpart and past MPP, Mary-Margaret McMahon, did the same.
Dupuis narrowly lost the 2022 election to McMahon, but is hopeful the riding will flip for a fifth straight election, while McMahon attempts on Feb. 27 to become the first incumbent re-elected in the riding since 2011.
